Look how well-hidden this Easter egg is. Just look at it.

(With the code “Fourfourfour,” you can get $5 off any set of four mouse army patterns through the end of June. This is kind of a self-promotion, and kind of a thanks for hanging around and reading the blog. Also it would have been clever to make it a $4 discount, but I did not think some parts of this through. Anyway. Make your own mini-collection of any four patterns! Be sure to use the code! If it goes well, I might do this every month, some sort of stealth discount that only shows up in the blog. I don’t know. Now on to the post!)

The latest pattern is called Dog Days 4.

It is a little early to publish something called Dog Days 4, because it’s June, and not the Dog Days yet, but this has been on my mind and in my pattern files since last autumn, and I need to get it out of my system. I think I finished knitting my fifth one yesterday—one last year, and two more earlier this year and the last two in May—so I guess it bears repeated knitting and it uses only half a skein, or a little more, of the worsted yarn I used for the main samples (Malabrigo Rios (210 yards, so it really is just over half) and Blue Sky Woolstok (123 yards for the small skein, so one skein is enough to knit it with a little left over)). I was able to knit both this pattern and Dog Days 3 from one skein of Rios in Apple Green.
